School girls in Patna protested against the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata Medical College. Students from class 9 to 12 formed a human chain to show solidarity against the atrocities and violence against women. The purpose of this event was to give the message that gender-based violence will no longer be tolerated in our society. The event was organized by Notre Dame Academy, in which students condemned the heinous rape and murder of an intern doctor through a human chain and expressed their anger peacefully.
It was spread from the school gate to Kurji turn
More than 1000 students took part in this human chain, which stretched from the school gate to Kurji More. The participants held hands and displayed banners with powerful slogans such as “Notre Dame for Justice”, “Break the Silence; Stop Violence”. “We, as students, believe that it is extremely important to raise our voice against atrocities and violence against women and promote gender equality. We demand a safe society for all and urge the authorities to take immediate action and ensure justice,” the student organiser said.
